Concrete filled steel tube (CFST) columns have been widely applied in modern construction. In the current study, computational model was developed to simulate the behavior of CFST columns exposed to non-uniform and natural fire conditions. The failure mechanism of CFST columns under non-uniform fire was discussed. Parametric studies were conducted to investigate the influence of critical structural parameters. A theoretical approach was proposed to predict the fire resistance of CFST columns exposed to non-uniform heating. On the other hand, excessive internal pressure and high temperature are the key reasons for concrete spalling and there are complex interactions between these two aspects. A multiaxial plastic-damage constitutive model for concrete at different temperatures is proposed. The developed model combines damage mechanics and elasto-plasticity theories based upon a thermodynamic framework. A fourth-order damage tensor is adopted to describe the unilateral effect. A pressure-dependent damage evolution is considered to characterize the behavior of concrete at highly confined stress states. Transient creep and thermal strains are included to account for the thermal response. The proposed constitutive model obeys the thermodynamics laws, and numerical simulations are conducted to validate the developed model. The numerical predictions show good accuracy compared with the experimental results.

姚堯,西北工業(yè)大學(xué)力學(xué)與土木建筑學(xué)院教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。本科、碩士、博士分別畢業(yè)于同濟(jì)大學(xué)、新加坡南洋理工大學(xué)、美國(guó)西北大學(xué)土木工程系。曾任美國(guó)美孚公司高級(jí)研究員、工程專家等職。目前發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文100余篇,其中包括《Journal of Structural Engineering-ASCE》,《Engineering Structures》,《Journal of Engineering Mechanics-ASCE》,《Thin-Walled Structures》, 《Journal of Constructional Steel Research》,《International Journal of Plasticity》,《International Journal of Solids and Structures》,《Engineering Fracture Mechanics》,《Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering》,《Acta Materialia》,《Physical Review B》等本領(lǐng)域知名SCI期刊60余篇,他引400余次。發(fā)表英文書章3章。多次擔(dān)任ASCE EMI、IMECE、MS&T等國(guó)際學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議的分會(huì)主席,并作大會(huì)邀請(qǐng)報(bào)告。擔(dān)任10余種國(guó)際SCI期刊及美國(guó)ACI規(guī)范評(píng)審人。目前,任美國(guó)巖石力學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)編委會(huì)委員;美國(guó)土木工程學(xué)會(huì)、機(jī)械工程學(xué)會(huì)等協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)員;中國(guó)力學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)高級(jí)會(huì)員;ABAQUS斷裂研究國(guó)際專家組成員。教育部科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)、陜西省科技重大專項(xiàng)、自然科學(xué)基金、科技部國(guó)際合作等項(xiàng)目評(píng)審專家。2016年獲陜西省青年科技獎(jiǎng)、2017年獲陜西高等學(xué)??茖W(xué)技術(shù)一等獎(jiǎng)(排名第一)。擔(dān)任國(guó)際期刊《Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering》編委,《Journal of Micromechanics and Molecular Physics》副主編。
