報告內(nèi)容:

As part of the funded Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project, a series of RC flat plate substructures were tested to failure at Griffith University. A total of five tests were completed, namely Slabs 1 and 2 (being repeated tests under interior column removal scenario), Slab 3 (under edge column removal scenario), Slab 4 (with two diagonal corner columns being removed in sequence) and Slab 5 (under combined edge and interior column removal scenario). Preliminary results of these tests will be presented covering load-displacement responses, crack patterns, failure modes and load distribution patterns. Pilot numerical modelling work has also been conducted on the RC slab-column joint specimens. The outcome of this study will help understand the punching shear behaviour, the progressive collapse mechanism and resistance capacity of flat plate constructions, for which the Australian Standard does not offer adequate design guidelines.

Following on from our successful laboratory tests on concrete flat plates, a series of tests on timber frames will also be performed under the support of the ARC Timber Hub project. We will focus on the design aspects to mitigate progressive collapse of tall timber buildings which are gaining popularity in Australia and worldwide. Yet no proper design guidelines are available to prevent the progressive collapse of tall timber buildings in international specifications.
