Biography: |
Leroy Gardner is a Professor of Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London. He is engaged in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, specialist advisory work and leading an active research group in the area of steel structures.
His principal research interests, in respect of which he has co-authored over 250 papers, as well as numerous textbooks and design guides, lie in structural testing, numerical modelling and the development of design guidance. He has contributed to the provisions of several international structural design standards and chairs the BSI mirror group responsible for UK input into the Eurocode for steel structures.
Professor Gardner is a Fellow of the Institutions of Civil (FICE) and Structural (FIStructE) Engineers, and is actively involved in both. For IStructE, he is Chair of the North Thames Regional Group and the Research Panel, and a Member of Council and a number of other panels and committees. He is a member of the editorial board of five international structural engineering journals, as well as being Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Steel Structures and the research journal of the Institution of Structural Engineers |

Biography: |
Professor DENNIS Lam is the Chair of Structural Engineering in the School of Engineering and Director of Bradford Centre for Sustainable Environments at the University of Bradford, UK. He was also formerly Chief Structural Engineer for the City of Wakefield. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Before joining the academia, he had spent more than ten years in engineering practices. He is currently a Guest Chair Professor at the Tsinghua University, China and Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is the European Editor-in-Chief for Steel & Composite Structures and serves on the editorial boards for six other international journals in structural engineering. He chairs the Working Group of the European Standard Committee, CEN/T250/SC4 responsible for the systematic review and revision of the Eurocode 4. |

Biography: |
Richard Liew is a Professor and the Program Director of Hazard, Risk and Mitigation in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore. The main focus of his research is on the development of sustainable metal-composite technologies for offshore, marine and infrastructural works. These investigations have ranged from technologies for prefabrication production of steel structures for high-rise and large span systems at one extreme to design for fire hazards and extreme loadings for structures in marine and defence related industries at the other end of the spectrum. Arising from this work, he has co-authored 5 books and generated more than 300 technical publications. He is an editorial board member of 8 journals. He interacts closely with the industry in the Asia Pacific region serving as an expert and technical advisor. He chairs numerous international and local committees related to standards and specifications of steel and composite structures. He is a registered professional engineer in Singapore, an ASEAN chartered professional engineer and a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Engineer in UK, a Professional Engineer in Singapore, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, a Honorary Fellow and the Past President of Singapore Structural Steel Society and Honorary Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction. |

王俊顏,現(xiàn)任同濟大學高等研究院特聘研究員、博士生導師。2010年在同濟大學材料科學與工程學院獲得工學博士學位,2009年赴加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學作訪問學者,2010年1月至2014年12月在新加坡國立大學任項目研究員(Research Fellow)。
2014年,王俊顏博士入選同濟大學基礎學科高水平領(lǐng)航人才計劃,任特聘研究員,作為負責人建設超高性能水泥基材料實驗室和研究課題組。王俊顏博士的研究領(lǐng)域為超高性能水泥基結(jié)構(gòu)材料,包括超輕、超強、超高韌性三大方向,目前已經(jīng)在Cement and Concrete Research、Cement and Concrete Composites、ACI materials journal、Construction and Building Materials等水泥混凝土研究領(lǐng)域的國際頂級期刊發(fā)表十余篇SCI收錄論文,并長期擔任美國土木工程師學會(ASCE)、美國混凝土協(xié)會(ACI)旗下學術(shù)期刊審稿人。 |

Biography: |
WANG Tongyun obtained his PhD from National University of Singapore for his works on steel-concrete interfacial behavior using cohesive zone method. Earlier he obtained Master of Engineering from NUS working on genetic algorithm and post-buckling and Bachelor of Engineering from Chongqing University. He has been working as Research Engineer and Research Fellow for more than 10 years and on over 5 jointly funded research projects including high strength steel-concrete composite columns for sustainable construction, novel steel-concrete-steel sandwich panel, CFRP composite pipe subjected to impact, multi-function facade, and ultra-high performance cementitious material for composite decking. He has one provisional US patent on SCS composite system. Dr. Wang is the co-founder of Applied Research Consultants Pte. Ltd. in Singapore and now acting as director of the company with experiences for various structural analyses, nonlinear FEA, blast effect analysis, blast-resistant design and CFD based wind study for complex roof structures. He has been appointed by Siemens Oil & Gas headquarter as FEA trainer. He has provided consulting services to many international and regional companies, including Petronas, Siemens, Emerson, Taisei, CPG, TTJ, Technics, PEC, Rotary etc. for infrastructures and Oil & Gas plants. He also served Singapore authorities including Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs and Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs for security related projects. |

XIONG Mingxiang is currently a Research Fellow in National University of Singapore (NUS). He was a Research Scholar with NUS pursing his doctorate degree since 2008, and he was conferred with doctorate in 2013. He has been involved in composite structure research and design for more than 12 years. His research interests include steel-concrete composite structure subjected to static and extreme environmental loads, such as fire, impact and blast etc. He has authored/co-authored more than 10 journal papers; and the co-author for Singapore code of practice “BC4:2015 Design Guide for Concrete Filled Tubular Members with High Strength Materials - An extension of Eurocode 4 Method to C90/105 Concrete and S550 Steel”. |

Biography: |
YAN Jia-Bao is an Associate Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the Tianjin University, China. Before joining this University, he received his Ph.D degree from the National University of Singapore, and spent four more years to continue his research as a research fellow at the same university. His research mainly focused on the development of sustainable novel steel-concrete composite structures for civil and offshore constructions, and developing the corresponding design guidelines for the engineering application purposes by means of experiments and nonlinear numerical analysis. His extensive research interests also include the developments of high performance steel structure, steel-concrete composite structure, and reinforced concrete structure by using high performance concrete and high strength steel. He has published about forty papers in international peer reviewed journals and conferences, and has served as the reviewers for nearly ten peer reviewed journals. |
